Dubai’s world-class business events infrastructure was put on full display 8-10 September 2014, as MCI Group, a leading international association management, communication and event management company, convened its Global Account Management Summit 2014 in the emirate.

This year, the summit was hosted in Dubai in partnership with Jumeriah Creekside Hotel and Dubai Business Events (DBE), a division of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), as testament to the emirate’s rapid growth as a host for premier international business events.

The meeting, which brought together 75 of MCI Group’s business development and account managers from almost 30 countries, was held to increase the value of the company’s global client base. With a portfolio of business events accounts worth over US$100 million (AED367 milllion), the hosting of the summit in Dubai also gave MCI’s global team the chance to experience what the emirate has to offer as a business events destination capable of hosting international events of all sizes and scopes.

Director of Dubai Business Events (DBE), Steen Jakobsen, said, “Hosting MCI’s Global Account Management Summit has allowed us to showcase what Dubai has to offer to key influencers in the international meetings and events sphere. MCI Group is a trusted partner for many companies and organisations looking to host meetings and events in leading international cities and we are very happy to have had this opportunity to build partnerships with the group and its team.” For his part, CEO of MCI Group Sebastien Tondeur added: “As one of our fastest growing markets, as well as the base for our regional head office for India, the Middle East and Africa operations, Dubai is not new to MCI Group. A number of our global business development and key account directors, however, had not yet experienced Dubai as a destination.” “This meeting was a great opportunity for our global team to get a perspective of Dubai as a destination and understand the subtleties of doing business in this region. We look forward to supporting Dubai in its vision of becoming a top meetings destination,” he said.
