DEWA participates in GITEX 2014

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is participating at GITEX Technology Week 2014, which is being held from 12–16 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

DEWA is participating at GITEX as part of the Dubai Smart Government stand in Sheikh Saeed Hall. At its stand (S2-A21 and S3-A21), DEWA is presenting its extensive portfolio of smart services and solutions, in addition to its three smart initiatives: The first is connecting solar power to houses and buildings. The second is smart applications through smart meters and grids. The third initiative is the construction of the infrastructure and charging stations for electric vehicles. These initiatives will help to provide a better and smarter future for all residents of Dubai.

Visitors to DEWA’s stand will learn about DEWA’s latest smart services and achievements including its smart app for Google glasses, which has been developed for internal use. Ash’ir is designed to help hearing-impaired customers. DEWA’s smart app provides various services and features. The app offers informative, interactive, and transactional services for customers, consultants, suppliers, job seekers, and government organisations.

During GITEX Technology Week, there will be a daily raffle draw for customers who have used services available on DEWA’s smart app. Selected services include Final Bill request, Green Bill registration, Move-In service, Pay for a Friend, and activating mobile-payments on the Auto-Pay feature on DEWA’s website (www.dewa.gov.ae).

Customers who pay their electricity and water bills in full for three consecutive months using the smart app or the website (dewa.gov.ae), between 1 August 2014 and 31 January 2015, will qualify for the grand prize raffle draw in February 2015. Three lucky winners will receive valuable smart devices.

Through its participation at GITEX, DEWA is reaching out to a large segment of customers to encourage the public to use its smart services via DEWA’s smart application, which has a number of features and enables the completion of transactions without any delay.
