The H Dubai Collaborates with Dubai Autism Center (DAC) to Organise a New Training Initiative
Two students at the centre, Aya and Danny, will begin a vocational training program under the guidance of the team members  at The H Dubai and Dubai Autism Center in an effort to promote inclusivity and support the local community

The H Dubai is delighted to announce an exciting new step in its partnership with the Dubai Autism Center (DAC) that will provide valuable vocational training opportunities for students on the spectrum. Having previously hosted an array of events such as the celebration of Autism Awareness Month in April, craft workshops, and fundraisers, The H Dubai has a deep relationship with the Dubai Autism Center. The hotel’s newest venture aims to broaden its support for this incredible cause by establishing a new vocational training program. The program is designed to equip students with essential skills and real-world experience, enhancing their career prospects and personal development.

The Dubai Autism Center was established in 2001 by a decree of the Ruler of Dubai as the first Emirati non-profit organisation in the UAE that aims to provide integrated consulting, educational, and specialised therapeutic services in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through holistic education and therapeutic programs, the centre works tirelessly to ensure young people integrate into the community and live fulfilling lives. Dubai Autism Centre has become a beacon of hope for many children and their families, opening a world of new opportunities for young people on the spectrum.

As the first hotel in Dubai to earn the Certified Autism Center™ designation, The H Dubai hotel provides an optimal environment for its newest trainees to flourish. The inviting hotel is known for its ongoing work with Dubai Autism Center as it aligns with the hotel’s ethos to promote compassion and social responsibility. With the help of The H Dubai team and Dubai Autism Center teachers, the training program provides students with a level playing field to acquire key skills and experience.

The innovative vocational program, which began on May 21st and will run until July 3rd, is designed to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. During the initial phase, from May 21st to June 17th, the students will receive training from The H Dubai team at Dubai Autism Center under the guidance of teachers from the centre.

In the next stages of the program, June 18th to July 3rd, the students will join the hotel two days a week for hands-on experience in a professional setting, mentored by their Dubai Autism Center teachers and behaviour specialists. This blended approach ensures that the students receive consistent support and guidance in a comfortable environment.

Aya Salem Hafid and Daniel Fahmy are the two incredibly talented students participating in this program. Aya, who enjoys colouring, arts and crafts, and swimming, will train in the F&B department. Her tasks will include greeting guests, table setup, making coffees, and guest farewells.

Daniel, who loves conversations, playing bass, listening to classical music, and cooking, will be trained in the Front Office department. Each student will be paired with a dedicated mentor from The H Dubai team who will provide ongoing guidance and support throughout the duration of their training.

Following the successful training at the centre and the hotel under the guidance of the DAC teachers, the students will then be able to independently undertake summer internships at the hotel. This phase of the initiative aims to provide the students with a practical, immersive experience that prepares them for future employment opportunities.

This program, in partnership with Dubai Autism Center, highlights The H Dubai’s commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community, where individuals on the autism spectrum can achieve their full potential. The venture is a significant step towards empowering these talented individuals, providing them with the tools needed to excel in the future while also embracing differences for a more understanding society.
