Sharjah schools switch to distance learning till Feb.28

Sharjah has decided put all private schools students to distance learning from the coming week.

The Sharjah Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Team and Sharjah Private Education Authority have decided to shift students at all Sharjah private schools and nurseries to distance learning from 14 to 28 February 2021, with continuous monitoring of the situation.

The authorities have taken the decision to ensure safety of students during the pandemic.

Over the past few days, the number of cases in the UAE tends to increase.  

The authorities urged all parents to pay heed to the statement and start the distance learning procedure.

In September, the Distance learning Programme has been very successful and has been rated by SPEA as ‘Developed’ in the recently conducted Distance Learning Review.

No gatherings

On the other hand, the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs in Sharjah announced an update to the precautionary measures for social events and private parties.

As for precautionary measures for social events and weddings are held by only 20 people at the venue of the ceremony at home with distance 4 metres.

The authorities said people should avoid hand shakes, hugging, kissing and greeting with the nose.

They should also wear compulsory facemasks during the ceremony, and sanitise their hands regularly.

The measures included adhering to half of the capacity for each table, that is if the table has a capacity of 10 people, only 5 people are allowed, and leaving a distance of two metres between each table.

The duration of the ceremony should not exceed a maximum of 4 hours.
