French President Francois Hollande said Friday he would wait for a UN report on last month’s chemical attack before taking a final decision on action against Syria, according to dpa.
Speaking at the end of the G20 summit in St Petersburg, Hollande said: “We will now wait for the decision of Congress, the American Senate and House of Representatives, then the (UN) inspectors report. I will then have to take a decision, in view of these elements.”
France is the only country that has said it would join the United States in military strikes against the Syrian regime.
