Serco inks contract for Dubai Metro’s wireless network maintenance

The Dubai Metro operator, Serco Company, has awarded a one-year renewable to Nedaa Corporation for delivering technical services and applications related to the maintenance of the wireless communication network of Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines.

The contract covers periodic and corrective maintenance of 50 transmission stations, and round-the-clock monitoring for any malfunctioning or emergency failures in order to ensure the efficient and high quality functionality, in addition to revamping the telecommunication network of the metro stations, according to a press release from Dubai Metro.

Chris Rayner, Managing Director of Serco, and Mansour Bu Osaiba, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nedaa Corporation, signed the contract in a ceremony at Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA).

Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, Acting CEO of Rail Agency said that cooperation with Nedaa which will contribute to the upgrading of the metro’s communication network to the highest standards reflects integrated keen efforts to share practical experiences, adopt industry-leading practices, and provide top class services in the field of security and safety.

Serco’s Rayner said the contract contributes to enhancing the efficiency of the wireless network of the Dubai Metro on both Red Line and Green Line, and represents a step towards broadening joint cooperation with other entities in delivering better services.
