The seventh session of the Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF) discussed opportunities of women’s economic empowerment and mechanisms of cooperation between Qatar and international business community in order to enable women leaders to play a big role in the economic sector and to achieve sustainable economic development.
Speaking at the event, Silatech Representative in Qatar, HE Sheikha Al Anoud bint Hamad Al -Thani stressed the need for focusing on the women’s empowerment, especially as a lot of women in the Arab world have benefited from Silatech’s initiatives , which was founded in 2008 by H H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in order to support young people and provide them with job opportunities in the Arab countries .
HE Sheikha Al Anoud noted that the Arab countries currently received at almost 30 per cent of Arab youth unemployment, which is a big problem, noting that Silatech seeks to resolve this problem and looking for partners to help resolving it , stressing that Silatech has more than one hundred partners in the 50 countries around the world and a lot of its customers is outside the State of Qatar.
HE Silatech Representative pointed out that women have great potential and they are able to contribute to the economy as men, noting that Silatech is part of the solution because it can enable many non-working people to create a business as well as providing them opportunities to get work thanks to their different status and their care and training .
HE she pointed out that Silatech upgrade skills of all in order to make a success and there are a lot of significant economic and social constraints facing women in the Arab world and we are trying to change this situation and at the present time we need to find innovative and effective ways to help women to get jobs regardless of geographical restrictions and barriers.
HE Sheikha Al Anoud stressed the need for empowering women in many fields, notably in economic domain beside giving them chances to play a pioneering role and opening doors for them to change the life.
