Encapsulating Infiniti’s vision of future premium sport sedans, Infiniti Q50 has been officially launched across the Middle East today, marking a new era for its model range. Already having claimed accolade around the world, including the Middle East, Infiniti Q50 brings distinctive design, world’s first technologies, engaging performance and a new standard of in-car connectivity. Offering new levels of driving personalisation, Infiniti Q50 is for the new generation of young-minded, premium customers seeking Infiniti’s unique fusion of inspired performance and hospitality.
Juergen Schmitz, General Manager, Infiniti in the Middle East, said: “Infiniti Q50’s muscular, athletic appearance brings a blend of dynamic exterior styling and Infiniti’s signature ‘double wave’ interior to create design which creates an emotional engagement. Infiniti Q50’s looks alone make it standout in its class.
“But Infiniti Q50 also introduces a new era of technology and features to our range. After ten years of development, we have transferred the digital steering system used in aviation for decades to the automotive industry and made it standard across the Infiniti Q50 range in the Middle East in the form of ‘Direct Adaptive Steering’. It offers the driver multiple settings of steering weight and response speed, giving them a personalised driving experience to suit their mood, whether it be inspired by performance or the desire for comfort.
“As a global brand Infiniti is entering a new era focused on new products, new technology and new designs for our customers. Infiniti Q50 is the embodiment of this new vision,” said Schmitz.
Infiniti Q50 brings more world-firsts. The Predictive Forward Collision Warning system alerts the driver to risks that lie beyond their field of view, sensing the speed and distance of the vehicle directly ahead and of the one travelling in front of that, giving early warning of a potential accident. Meanwhile Active Lane Control™ helps Infiniti Q50 remain in the middle of the lane, preventing the driver unintentionally moving from between the marker lines and reducing the need for minor adjustments of the steering wheel while cruising along highways.
Inside Infiniti Q50, occupants are greeted by another world-premiere – not just one touch screen control panel but two. These offer intuitive access to a dazzling array of features which tailor their driving experience and also Infiniti InTouch which puts communication with the outside world within easy reach. This telematics system integrates hands-free phone, moving map navigation, entertainment and smart phone apps in a way that is safe and easy-to-use while driving.
The Infiniti Q50 range introduces the brand’s first hybrid powertrain to the Middle East alongside the refined 326-horsepower 3.7-litre V6 engine. Infiniti Q50 Hybrid mates a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with Infiniti’s Direct Response Hybrid System delivering net 350 horsepower and 536Nm of combined torque with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control, making it capable of reaching 100km/h from a standing start in 5.1 seconds.
All models come equipped with a refined 7-speed automatic transmission with available solid magnesium paddle shifters. The Infiniti Drive Mode Selector with Eco, Standard, Sport and Custom settings is also standard on all models, part of the advanced customizable digital environment system that allows drivers to create unique settings for engine, transmission, handling and steering controls.
The all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50 is available in Premium and Sport grades, the latter featuring sport styling, brakes and suspension tuning. Infiniti Q50’s advanced range of safety features are available as part of the ‘Technology Pack’ available across all derivatives.
