Qatar Airways (QA) will launch an additional daily flight to Madinah in Saudi Arabia from October 26, the Qatari national carrier announced Tuesday.
The additional flight will double the number of Qatar Airways’ weekly flights on the Doha-Madinah route from seven to 14 weekly services.
QA continues its expansion to Saudi Arabia since it began non-stop flights to Jeddah in 1997. The airline added Dammam, Riyadh, Madinah Gassim, Ta’if and Al Hofuf to its portfolio of destinations in the kingdom since then.
Increasing passenger demand prompted QA increased flights to Madinah from five per week to daily flights in April this year to fulfil increasing passenger demand. The introduction of an extra daily service from October 26 reiterates its expanding consumer and business demand on this route, QA said.
QA currently operates 79 weekly flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which will rise to 86 flights per week with the introduction of the additional flights to Madinah.
QA Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said, “We have been steadily growing our presence and services to Saudi Arabia. The additional daily flight to Madinah will now bring additional connectivity for passengers connecting from Asia, the Middle East and other GCC countries. From Madinah, passengers will be able to travel through our Doha hub to London, Paris, Bangkok, Hong Kong, New York and Washington.” The new additional flights will be operated with an Airbus A320 in a two-class configuration, with 12 seats in First Class and 132 in Economy Class.
The Doha-Madinah Additional Daily Flight Schedule Commencing October 26 (all times local) QR1174 departs Doha at 0055 hrs and arrives Madinah at 0320 hrs.
QR1175 departs Madinah at 0420 hrs and arrives Doha at 0625 hrs.
