Qatar Exchange Index Gains 202.63 Points

 Qatar Exchange index continued its good run for the third consecutive day, gaining 202.63 points (+1.59%) when bourse closed for the weekend at 12,919.63 points here Thursday afternoon.

The traded value reached QR 725,785,717.73 with a volume of 16,806,180 from 7,911 transactions.
Banking sector made substantial gains today with seven banks ending the day up from +1.22% to 4.36%.
Overall the banking and finance segment traded a value of QR 364.61 Million with a volume of 6,095,564 shares from 3,535 transactions.

Masraf Al Rayan Bank topped banks with a trading value of QR 179.82 Million with a volume of 3,312,350 shares from 1,369 transactions that propelled its share value +4.36% to QR 55.10 from Wednesday closing of QR 52.80.
Qatar Islamic Bank, too, saw hectic trading activity with a trading value of QR 49.682 Million with a volume of 496,427 shares from 315 transactions to close at QR 101, +4.02% from QR 97.10 on Wednesday.

Investors traded shares of 42 of the 43 listed companies today. Twenty-eight ended higher, 12 went down and two remained unchanged.
Qatari individual investors bought shares of 41 companies for a value of QR 340.539 Million (46.92%) with volume of 9,633,175.
Qatari individual investors sold shares of 42 companies for a value of QR 385.102 Million (53.06%) with a volume of 9,626,509 shares.

Qatari institutional investors bought shares of 34 companies for a value of QR 132.455 Million (18.25%) with a volume of 2,229,586 shares.
Qatari institutional investors sold shares of 30 companies for a value of QR 110.887 Million (15.28%) with a volume of 2,277,774 shares.
