GESS Dubai 2024 proved to be an essential hub for educators, leaders, and technology pioneers, with a focus on driving progress and collaboration within the industry.
This year’s event saw notable collaborations that are set to impact the education landscape. HP and Skyline University signed an MOU to bring the HP Gaming Garage and HP Creator’s Garage programs to the university, enabling students to enhance their skills in digital design, programming, and innovation. “We’re excited to be part of this amazing educational community and show how Scholastic Gaming can make learning design and coding skills more fun and engaging for students, and GESS has helped us enable that goal,” said HP Gaming Garage.
Additionally, Schoolvoice teamed up with Klickit, a leading provider of digital payment solutions, to streamline payment systems for schools and parents across KSA and the UAE, emphasizing the importance of efficient administrative processes in education.
GESS Dubai 2024 also featured a diverse range of international pavilions, with strong representations from China, the UK, Germany, and Korea. China led with its largest pavilion, showcasing over 40 exhibitors, while the UK Pavilion introduced more than 30 innovative providers. The introduction of Gaming@GESS, with founding sponsor HP Gaming Garage, and the presence of companies like Endless Studios, added an exciting new dimension to the event, highlighting the growing intersection of gaming and education.
Exhibitors like Avientek also shared their excitement: “Our goal is to make learning simpler and more engaging for everyone. By leveraging AI, we’re dedicated to delivering tools that empower students to connect with their education in innovative, exciting ways,” said Anusree M, Marketing Specialist at Avientek.
The event’s keynote speakers, including Gavin McCormack, reflected on the power of connection in driving educational innovation. McCormack emphasized, “Deep learning only occurs when we promote and cultivate connection,” reinforcing the theme of collaboration that defined the event.
The event also served as a platform to honor excellence, with the prestigious GESS Awards recognizing outstanding educators, institutions, and educational products. The awards highlighted the dedication of individuals and organizations that are pushing the boundaries of education, inspiring new approaches and fostering positive change.
Looking ahead, GESS Dubai will return from 11 to 13 November 2025, with promises of further growth and new collaborations. Additionally, education professionals can look forward to the inaugural GESS Saudi Arabia, set to take place from 26 to 28 May 2025 in Riyadh.
