Under the Patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the third edition of Qatar ICT Conference and Exhibition, “QITCOM 2014” is to open at 9:00am this Monday, May 26, 2014. The event will be held for three days until May 28, at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
HE the Minister of Information and Communications Technology Dr Hessa Al-Jaber will deliver QITCOM 2014 opening speech, while HE Minister of Finance Ali Sharif Al-Emadi will deliver the keynote speech.
Organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and managed by fischerAppelt, Qatar, the event will focus on information and communications technology (ICT). With the mission to inspire people to “Innovate Today for the Future of Qatar”, QITCOM 2014 will host local, regional and global ICT experts who will share insights on noteworthy ICT topics.
QITCOM is also a solid platform for the industry leaders, innovators, ICT professionals and enthusiasts alike to come together, network, and create new business opportunities.
This third edition of QITCOM is especially important, as it will feature an exhibition, conference, awards, competitions for entrepreneurs, contests for students, and other signature offerings aimed at reflecting aspirations and growth potential of the Qatari ICT sector. ICT industry’s expansion will – in turn- reflect well on the overall economic growth of the State of Qatar.
QITCOM is a part of the Ministry’s efforts to harness the power of ICT, driving innovation well into the future, as an advanced ICT sector is crucial to a diversified economy. ICT supports all aspects of the nation’s development plan outlined in the Qatar National Vision 2030, and is essential to realizing the Qatari leadership’s vision – from sustaining economic prosperity to providing a high standard of living to all people who live and work in Qatar.
