Australian Business Council Dubai Names Naim Maadad As New Chairman

The Dubai chapter of the Australian Business Council has named the CE and Founder of Dubai-based hospitality group Gates Hospitality, Naim Maadad as its Chairman.

Voted in by the board, Naim will lead 340 Members in continuing to build and grow on ABCD’s commercial goals in the UAE, whilst building new partnerships and opportunities for trade and commerce between the UAE and Australia.

Speaking about his appointment, Naim Maadad said: “It is an honour to be representing the ABCD and leading my fellow Members into a very exciting new chapter for our community.

Having worked in the hospitality industry in Australia, Asia and the Middle East for more than 30 years, I have always known the great potential of our industry for economic growth; and so now leading a council of such innovative and dynamic business people, I am very much looking forward to see seeing how we can contribute to and grow further trade between the UAE and Australian governments, showcasing the huge amount of talent and growth potential that our Members bring for both countries.”

Focusing on the core pillarof community, Naim will lead the council in developing new opportunities with Australian businesses, while nurturing and supporting Australian families and sports, to complement the existing country to country trade goals set by the council.

Naim will be joined by Arpana Sharma who has been voted Vice-Chairman, as well as Grant Bateman as Treasurer, Ryan Perkins and Ranjit Joy who will lead on Government Relations, Lisa Meli and Carl Dowling who will lead on Membership, Erin Collins and Stephen Munneray in Events and Justine Cullen, James Wilton and Omid Honari in MarComms.
