In honour of International Sushi Day, SUSHISAMBA is delighted to unveil the EDOMAE Masterclass, an immersive and interactive new culinary experience designed to immerse guests into the ancient art of sushi-making. Launching on 26 June, the one-of-a-kind sushi-making masterclass, led by none other than SUSHISAMBA’s Culinary Director Chef Kyung Soo Moon, will take guests behind the scenes as they learn about the history and finesse required to create one of the world’s most sought-after dishes. Taking place within the exclusive setting of SUSHISAMBA’s intimate private dining room, overlooking the breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf, the Palm Jumeirah and Ain Dubai, the EDOMAE Sushi-Making Masterclass promises to deliver a truly sensational experience, which is unparalleled taste and style.
Referencing Tokyo’s old name, ‘Edo’, the EDOMAE Masterclass pays homage to Japan’s rich culinary history. Named after traditional Edomae cuisine from Japan’s Edo period that lasted from 1603 to 1868, which is renowned for its delicate dishes made from local fish caught freshly from Edo Bay, SUSHISAMBA’s EDOMAE Masterclass delivers a sophisticated lesson on the traditional art of sushi-making.
Under the expert guidance of award-winning Chef Kyung Soo Moon, whose 22-year career includes a number of high-profile roles at some of the most prestigious fine dining restaurants across Dubai, Singapore and Australia, guests can gear up for an intimate experience of learning about the many different kinds of sushi and how it has become one of the most popular dishes in the modern world. With access to premium sushi-making equipment and freshly prepared ingredients, guests will have the chance to hone their culinary skills as they try their hands at preparing a Classic Sushi Roll as well as two signature SUSHISAMBA Rolls. Following the sushi-making session, guests will be invited to indulge in a three-course sharing style lunch, with sake and wine pairing options as well as additional beverages which will be available at an additional charge upon request. To commemorate their sushi-making experience amongst the clouds, each guest will receive a limited edition SUSHISAMBA apron, specially designed for the occasion, to remember their one-of-a-kind gastronomical adventure for years to come.
With a maximum capacity of 10 students per class, the EDOMAE Sushi-Making Masterclass makes for the perfect setting to meet like-minded people and understand sushi’s rich history. Priced at AED689 per person, the EDOMAE Sushi-Making Masterclass will take place from 1pm to 3:30pm, once a month, offering the perfect respite from the upcoming summer heat.
