Emirates extends flight suspension from India, Pakistan till July 28

Emirates Airline has confirmed that the ban on flghts from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will remain in place till July 28.  

The airline took to the decision due to spike in coronavirus cases in Asian countries and the emergence of Delta variant. 

The airline’s support team made the statement on Twitter.

Several passengers have asked the Dubai-based airline to clarify the flight resumption dates.

A passenger from Pakistan, named Ceher, asked the airline about flights to Dubai. 

Emirates Support said on Twitter, “Hello Ceher, our flights from Pakistan have just been suspended until 28th July and are subject to further review. Our website will be updated soon. Please keep an eye on the travel updates website for the latest travel information. Thanks.”

Indian national Shahid Saquafi asked the airline, “Is Emirates flights suspended from India untill 1st August?

Emirates Support said, “Hi Shahid, our flights from India are suspended until the 28th of July. But, that can change at any time. You can check for more details and a list of passengers exempt from travel. We’d suggest keeping an eye on updates. Thanks

The airline also said that passengers would not be permitted to travel to the UAE if he/ she has transited through India in the past 14 days.

However, Emiratis, Golden Visas holders and diplomatic missions’ staff would be allowed to travel if they agree to the latest travel measures.

These are the 8 categories of people who can enter UAE despite suspension of flights

—Expo 2020 participants and exhibitors

—Emiratis and their relatives

—Golden Visa holders

—Diplomatic mission staff

—Official delegations after obtaining prior approval from the UAE government.

—Cargo and transit flight crew of foreign companies holding a valid PCR test. PCR test is valid when it is showing a negative result and meets the required public health protocol.

The test is performed within 48 hours before flight to the UAE.

—Businessmen and businesswomen, provided they hold an approval from the General Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones, and heads of higher committees of the emergency, crisis and disaster management teams of the Emirate concerned.

—Persons with important functions according to the classification of the Federal Office of Personality and Citizenship.
