ALEC Group has announced it has opened its first office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Barry Lewis, Managing Director of ALEC, said the new office opening was part of its commitment to supporting the development of the Kingdom and the wider region.

“We are excited about the endless possibilities that will arise with the opening of our new office in Saudi Arabia,” said Mr. Lewis. “We are committed to helping revolutionise the region’s construction industry, and with our team of industry experts we look forward to creating value for our partners and stakeholders in the Kingdom.”

ALEC Saudi Arabia will be led by General Manager, Darrell Bergesen. With over 28 years of international experience in the industry across South Africa, the UK and the Middle East, he will be responsible for overseeing the growth and expansion of the company. Bergesen previously worked with ALEC from 2007 until 2017, and has re-joined the company after delivering the largest and most complex ‘brownfield’ mall in South Africa.

Bergesen said: “With GIGA developments and new projects progressing across the Kingdom, it is a prestigious opportunity to be a part of this rapidly changing landscape. We will be bringing new levels of innovation and expertise to Saudi and I’m looking forward to working with the local clientele, consultants and supply chains to showcase our strength in delivering excellence, quality, sustainability and safety throughout all our projects.”

ALEC currently has offices in Dubai, Oman and Ethiopia. The company specialises in delivering complex projects and provides integrated construction solutions for a variety of clientele.
