Master developer Nakheel has launched Ibn Battuta Residences, a twin-tower complex with 531 luxury apartments to be built next to Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai.
The project, launched on the first day of Cityscape Global real estate exhibition, will transform the skyline of Jebel Ali with two 48-floor buildings anticipated for delivery in Q4 2019.
Located just off Sheikh Zayed Road, the residences will be adjacent to Nakheel’s Ibn Battuta Mall, providing on-the-doorstep access to more than 400 shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities. The towers will also be within walking distance of the Dubai Metro, Ibn Battuta Bus Station and Jebel Ali park.
Ibn Battuta Residences will comprise 395 two bedroom and 136 three bedroom apartments, some with balconies and a maid’s room. There will also be a podium-level health and recreation complex featuring a landscaped pool deck complete with pools for adults and children, and a gym, as well as four levels of car parking with 900 spaces.
Nakheel Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah said: “Ibn Battuta Residences are strategically located at one of the fast-growing areas in Dubai. The apartments – the highest standard of accommodation available in Jebel Ali – are ideally placed for people who work at the nearby Jebel Ali Freezone or Dubai South, and, being less than an hour by car from Abu Dhabi, offer a convenient address for those who regularly travel to the capital.”
Ibn Battuta Residences is the latest addition to Nakheel’s growing portfolio of residential leasing portfolio – a key element of the developer’s business strategy. The company aims to double its leasing stock to more than 36,000 units over the next five years.
The residences complement a major expansion under way at Ibn Battuta Mall, where Nakheel is adding hundreds of shops, a new cinema complex and two hotels, the first of which will open next month, to the existing retail and leisure hub.
Ibn Battuta Residences is Nakheel’s second luxury project to be launched at Cityscape Dubai. The developer also unveiled Palm 360 on Palm Jumeirah, a twin-tower hotel and residential complex that includes a collection of 12,000 sq ft penthouses.
