Qatar Shell hosted recently the third Board meeting for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Qatar Section at Shell’s Doha headquarters.
In welcoming all the committee members, Rob Sherwin, General Manager of Corporate Affairs and Deputy Country Chair at Qatar Shell, said, “We are very pleased to host the third SPE Qatar Section Committee and engage with its members. At Shell, we are proud of our commitment to the SPE Qatar Section and the value it brings to our engineers. This is a great opportunity for industry experts to meet in order to share knowledge and best practices while developing SPE Qatar Section plans.” Qatar Shell is an active SPE Qatar Section Board member. As a demonstration of its long-term commitment, Qatar Shell signed a three-year sponsorship with the SPE to support special activities and events organized by SPE Qatar Section.
During the meeting, SPE Qatar Section strategic plans and a 2016 schedule of events were discussed, as was the upcoming International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), taking place in Doha in December 2015. Sheikh Faisal bin Fahad Al-Thani welcomed Exxon Mobil, Total, RasGas and Dolphin Energy representatives who just joined SPE Qatar Section Board for their first Board meeting.
