The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched an AED1.45 million water project that will contribute to stimulating the Palestinian economy through provision of water for agricultural purposes, according to reports from Emirates News Agency, WAM.
During the opening ceremony, Governor of Hebron, Kamel Hamid, praised the president, government and people of the UAE for supporting the Palestinian people. He said the project was of vital importance, as it would improve the living conditions of 100 farmers.
The ERC has drilled 100 wells to harvest rainwater to be used for irrigating farms.
