Rah Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority discussed the emirate’s 10,000 room hotel pipeline at the inaugural meeting to align the strategic plans for the destination and to further drive the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

Held at Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah, the full day strategy meeting was attended by leading government representatives across the emirate. The aim was to align resources and individual strategies, to promote the emirate and to reinforce the growth momentum plans for the destination. This follows Ras Al Khaimah’s recent announcement of its aggressive growth strategy, targeting 20 new hotel properties that are expected to add 10,000 room keys to the emirate by 2022.

The meeting was the first opportunity to consolidate the efforts of all parties that would contribute to the vision and strategy of Ras Al Khaimah. Government representatives discussed the future conservation and management of archaeological sites, investment strategy, and infrastructural development within the short term.

Last year Ras Al Khaimah saw 730,000 visitors in the emirate and our target is to attract 1 million by the end of 2018, setting ambitious targets to position Ras Al Khaimah as an authentic destination for both business and leisure travellers.”

The meeting was attended by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority as well as representatives from Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, Ras Al Khaimah Municipality, Ras Al Khaimah Police Government Head Quarters, The Department of Public Works and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
