Department of Finance hosts second Abu Dhabi Government ERP System Users Forum

The Department of Finance-Abu Dhabi, DoF, hosted its second Abu Dhabi ERP System, ADERP, Users Forum earlier this week, which was attended by 650 system specialists and employees from government entities across Abu Dhabi.

The forum was held to provide an interactive platform for participants to review the system’s latest developments and applications, as well as exchange information and experiences with specialists and system users.

Abdul Aziz Al Hareb Al Yousef, executive director, general budget sector of the General Directorate of Budgeting and member of the ADERP Steering Committee, opened the forum’s sessions and highlighted the role of the wise leadership and directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces , who set the development of the ADERP system in motion.

The forum falls in line with DoF’s commitment to achieve effective financial management in accordance with the highest international standards and practices in terms of preparing, implementing and measuring the financial performance of the general budget.

The forum covered topics including the system’s various applications, such as the Automated Procure-to-Pay System, human resources and employee life cycle management, securing and protecting government services, as well as implementing a financial integrated system in budget preparation and the monitoring of expenditure.

So far, 37 government entities have begun to use the ADERP system, which has increased from 29 last year. Over 15,000, people are currently using the system, compared to 10,500 users last year, and 800,000 transactions are being processed daily.

Abdul Aziz Al Hareb Al Yousef said: “The ADERP system was designed to manage shared government resources in line with best international practices. It plays a strategic role in developing the infrastructure of an advanced financial framework within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, enhancing transparency and the efficiency of government financial operations, and allowing us to plan according to data accuracy standards and ensure sustainable development.” He added: “We continuously seek to provide sustainable financial resources to government entities in accordance with the highest levels of professionalism, integrity and performance, to support Abu Dhabi Government’s efforts to achieve a higher level of unified strategic direction across all local entities.”
