The fourth meeting of Russian-UAE (United Arab Emirates) joint committee was held in Moscow on Friday to discuss the means of developing bilateral ties in different domains.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE’s Foreign Minister, headed the Emirati delegation in the meeting, while Denis Valentinovich Manturov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, chaired the Russian side, Itar-tass news agency reported.
Both sides in the meeting focused on strengthening the economic, trade and investment cooperation relations between the two countries, it said.
Sheikh Abdullah noted that Russia is a strategic economic partner of the UAE, saying trade between the two countries grew significantly to reach USD 2.5 billion in 2013, up from USD 1.48 in 2012.
Russia and UAE signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for creating a USD five billion investment fund in September 2013, the biggest ever foreign investment into Russia’s infrastructure.
